Christian View of 2022 - # 14

2022 continues its journey, marching through the monthly calendar, one leaf at a time. Inevitably, it comes to mid-April and fixes its eyes on Good Friday and the dawn of an Easter morning.

Here, at the Cross, the Christian view veers towards enduring faith, endearing focus and eternal foundations.

Here, at the Cross, sinful hearts, human suffering and suffocating selfishness can find redemption, relief and spiritual freedom.

The cross stands in the face of culture, cults and conflicts and does not buckle.

The Crucified and Risen One stands in the face of modernism, materialism and man- promoted philosophy and does not bow.

Good Friday and Easter remains our source of light in darkness and help in our times of powerlessness.

I take the risk of being over simplistic, overstating and over imagining but I still believe that the root cause of our wounds and wars is spiritual.

The remaining months ahead need not fall into an abyss of angst, anxiety and anger - because He lives.

Putin cannot crush it. Principalities cannot conquer it. Politics cannot cancel it. Never!

We are clear-eyed when it comes to the cross

It is anchored in the eternal purpose and plan of the Almighty.

Prophecy is on the side of righteousness and justice. It tells of Russia in ruins on the mountains of Israel. Ezekiel 38/39.

It charts China’s fatal march to the Battle Armageddon (Revelation 16:12-16).

2022 with all its crises will end and empty into eternity; while, what God has done in His Son, will continue, on course, to full and final victory.
