Can we trust Him? It’s all reduced to the most basic of relational questions - a matter of trust.

When the unexpected, the unwanted, the unwelcome happens - can we trust Him?

Is the God on the mountain really the God in the valley?

Did Andre Crouch get it right?

“Through it all, through it all

I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God

Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon His word. “

Could that be life’s learning curve?

Learning to lean? Learning to learn? Learning to love?

Are there any witnesses to the contrary? Is there any testimony to cast doubt on God’s trustworthiness?

Who can impugn His character? What jury can reach and render a verdict to convict Him of perjury, malpractice or reckless endangerment!

The question repeats itself - can we trust Him?

Let me offer three eternal, evidentiary truths:

1. He cares - 1 Peter 5:7

This is more than just a platitude and meaningless praise.

2022 cannot change the disposition of God. I know that this year has brought trouble, tears and trials but I speak in the face of all the winds of adversity to say -

Jesus cares about you !

1. He connects - Acts 17:27-28

He is not far from anyone of us. Our feelings might say otherwise. The surrounding circumstances might seem void of His presence but He’s there in the shadows and shades of our fears.

He weeps along with us - ask Mary and Martha

He never leaves us alone - ask Job

He walks in the fire with us - ask Hebrew worthies.

He’s with you now - even though you don’t understand even though you can’t see His plan.

1. He is coming - I Thessalonians 4:17-18

Paul used this truth as a means to bring comfort when facing uncertain times.

Perhaps you’re looking into a coming storm. Maybe you’re maneuvering through events that are menacing, mentally draining, leaving you to question if it will end, how it will end.

Let this comforting truth being a sense of peace and hope to your soul - Jesus is coming again.

Pain will vanish, Satan will be banished and life will swallow up disease, disability, dementia and death.

Can we trust Him? The answer comes gaining momentum through the ages - Yes, we can!

Can we trust Him? The response rises from the lives and lips of the millions gone before us - Yes, we can.

Can we trust Him? He stakes His sacred honour, His inerrant Word, His unimpeachable character on the reply! Yes, we can.
